Originally from Ciudad Juárez, José Barraza began his musical career at age 13 playing the guitarrón. Since then he became involved in Mexican music and began to join various mariachi groups, where he has made his talent and training known. Today he is part of the Cultural Mariachi Cultural Foundation ’where he teaches youth and children. He also teaches at the Professional Institute for Mariachi Musicians and spends his time on various activities related to mariachi, such as marketing his line of guitarrón strings, an instrument he chose to develop his mariachi career. These strings are wound finer than conventional ones and are thinner while retaining a standard tension. Ideal for acoustic, stage with microphone, or in studio settings.
